Light Gets the Job Done |
With
the help of the Everest Computer Light Americans can now
finish work at night, no matter what the setting.
Weighing less than a couple of ounces, the new Everest
Computer Light clips to a laptop screen for illumination
of any workstation. In addition, the light can clip to
a book and has a kickstand for easy use as table lamp.
With LED technology, this light is soft on the eyes and
is more energy efficient than a standard krypton bulb.
It does not use heat to emit light, so the bulbs will
last a lifetime. The Computer Light runs continually with
a USB cord, provided, or it can stand alone and run on
two lithium batteries for up to 70-plus hours.
“The Computer Light is great because it is so versatile.
The ability to have it run on either batteries or from
a USB cord is an appealing aspect of this light,”
said Peter Altman, Lumatec founder and chief executive
officer
LED technology, combined with the style and innovation
from Lumatec, allows the product to be energy-efficient
and extends the life of the product. It can be used for
travel and easily stored in a laptop case or briefcase.
This light’s extendable neck allows light to be
focused on a specific area.
Everest Computer Light will be available in the fall of
2005 at retailers nationwide and at www.lumatec.com,
with a suggested retail price of $24.95. “I
anticipate good things from this product. It is really
more than just a computer light, it’s a multi-functional
task light that makes a great gift for anyone who uses
a portable computer,” said Altman
Lumatec is an Austin, Texas, based company that is known
for creating FlashCard‚, the, first-ever, ultra-thin
credit-card sized flashlight, weighing less than one ounce.
Inspired by Lumatec’s founder, FlashCard‚
has sold more than 10 million pieces of this innovative
light since its debuted in 1995. |
